On Sunday, October 19, Chisinau hosted the local Jewish football teams tournament.
The tournament was attended by Kishinev Jewish organizations. The teams were divided into two groups of 3 teams by lot. Each team played 3 games of 15 minutes per set time.
Already at an early stage of preparatory activities representatives of Jewish organizations were very active in the formation of football teams.
The game itself turned out being spectacular.
Team that made their way to final were the teams of Lyceum Rambam and student center "Hillel". These teams showed real sportsmanship and good football. Opponents really were equal, but luck was on the side of the students, who became the winners of the cup.
The top scorer of the tournament was Valery Osipenko ("Hillel"), and the most valuable player of the Jewish community team was Vadim Pelin.
Upon completion of the match all the teams received well deserved prizes and gifts. Especially happy there appeared to be "school children", who along with many gifts received also a baby champagne. JCM Chairman Alexandr Bilinkis mentioned that this is the first but not the last sporting event for representatives of Jewish organizations. The plans is to make this soccer tournament an annual event.
One of the players on the JCM team Nikita Turcan said: "We want Jewish organizations representatives to show their solidarity both on the football field and in the community life. Therefore, from our side, we will do our best to support such activities. "
The organizers of the football tournament were: The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova, the Jewish Family Service "NES", a Jewish cultural center KEDEM, Jewish Student Cultural Center "Hillel" Jewish sport club "Maccabi-Moldova" and the Theoretical Lyceum ORT. Rambam.
