Lyceum was established October 10, 1991 upon request of the Republican Jewish culture society following the President of the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan Government Decree № 682 from 09.12.1991.
Lyceum considers revival of national consciousness of the Jewish Diaspora as one of its main priorities. Lyceum provides children from the Jewish families with the ability to learn their ancestors language and history.
Pedagogical team of the Lyceum consists of 44 teachers, including 24 teachers with a second didactic degree, 3 teachers with the first didactic degree and 3 teachers with the highest category, Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, 2 candidates of sciences.
Israel's Ministry of Education helps Lyceum teaching Jewish cycle studies, annually 2-3 teachers sent from Israel are working in the lyceum, teaching Hebrew, history and traditions of the Jewish people. In addition to that, the Lyceum itself helped growing some local Hebrew teachers, who are able to teach at a high methodological level. High professionalism of teachers from Hebrew department allowed Lyceum to introduce into the educational process new modern Hebrew study program called "NETA".
On December 5th 2000, a tripartite agreement between the Department of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of the city of Chisinau, the Consulate of the State of Israel and the World ORT - international non-governmental educational organization has been signed. In accordance with the above mentioned agreement in 2001 at the Lyceum there was founded ORT Technological Training Center, and the lyceum curriculum included the some modern disciplines as "Information Technology" & "Technology". This center became a lyceum-informing base thus ensuring wide adoption of ICT in the educational process.
Lyceum graduates have to pass state graduation exams and obtain corresponding document, establishment by the state.
