LivingStones Association together with ESJF European Jewish Cemetery Initiative contributed to save the Briceva Jewish cemetery in 2017, the first one to be protected from destruction and disappearance since WWII. Moreover, through our intercultural youth leadership and dialogue program Likrat Moldova, LivingStones Association educates Jewish high school students to discuss through dialogue in school classes in Chisinau to break up stereotypes, old resentments and misunderstandings about Jews and Judaism to help reduce conflicts against growing antisemitism. LivingStones Association plans to inaugurate its first Holocaust memorial monument on January 26,2020 in Bratuseni, placing it along the death route from the camps in Edinets to the camps in Transnistria to mark the route where thousands of Jews were murdered, died of hunger, typhus, and exhaustion in 1941.
It is therefore a pleasure to work together with the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova to join the world's efforts to combat discrimination and antisemitism and to contribute to the advancement and promotion of peaceful coexistence between people and cultures. The achievements would not have been possible without the cooperation established with our partner organisations and the community of Moldova.
