Congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu

On November 24, 2024, during the General Assembly of the members of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova, Alexander Bilinkis was re-elected as the President of the Jewish Community of Moldova for a new term. This event did not go unnoticed by the country’s highest leadership. The very next day, on November 25, 2024, the President of the Republic of Moldova, HE Maia Sandu, extended her congratulations to Mr Bilinkis.

In her congratulatory message, she stated:
“Dear Mr. Bilinkis, please accept our congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova. Your re-election to this position is a testament of trust placed in your efforts to preserve the Jewish cultural and spiritual heritage, as well as to strengthen interethnic harmony in our country.”

The President of the country also highlighted that the activities of the Jewish Community of Moldova serve as a model of solidarity, dialogue, and active participation in public life, embodying the values that unite us. President Sandu noted that the efforts of the newly re-elected President of the Jewish Community of Moldova, Alexander Bilinkis, to preserve memory and promote Jewish traditions are essential for the future prosperity and unity of Moldova.

The President assured Mr. Bilinkis of her support for the Jewish Community’s projects and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Jewish Community would continue to exemplify cohesion and development. Her official address concluded with wishes for strength and determination in achieving the set goals.

It is worth noting that our organization places great emphasis on supporting and strengthening cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, actively participating in joint projects. The recognition of the organization’s activities and its leader, Alexander Bilinkis, by President Sandu is therefore particularly significant and meaningful.
