The General Assembly of the members of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova

On 24 November 2024, the General Assembly of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova was held in the Concert Hall of the Jewish Community Center “KEDEM”. All city Jewish communities from both banks of Nistru, heads of Jewish public associations, educational and religious organizations were represented. Among the guests of honor were the head of the Nativ Mission in Moldova Marina Anukova, the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel HE Alexandr Roitman, as well as members of the Board of Trustees.

The Report on the activities of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova for the period from 2022 to 2024 was presented by the CEO Aliona Grossu. She spoke about such important areas of the organisations’ activities as: cooperation with state and local authorities, preserving the memory of the Holocaust, social, humanitarian, educational and research projects, preserving Jewish history and supporting Jewish traditions and cultural heritage, international cooperation in all these areas and directions, combating antisemitism and strengthening security, supporting the State of Israel and supporting Jewish local communities on both banks of Nistru.During the discussion of the report, Ms Marina Anukova, head of the Nativ Mission of the State of Israel in Moldova, highly appreciated the activities of the Community and noted the importance of cooperation between the parties.

At the General Assembly, the results of the financial control of the Community’s activities in 2022 by the censorship commission and the audit for 2023 were presented.
An important point of the Assembly was the elections to the Council of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova. The new composition included: A. Bilinkis, A. Bolboceanu, D. Boboc, I. Golberg, G. Kargher, I. Kreicman, V. Reider, O. Tendler, P. Tuev, S. Bujor, I. Sats, I. Freidkin, S. Hanucaev.

At the General Assembly, Alexander Bilinkis was re-elected as the President of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova by the votes of all those present. He introduced the members of the General Assembly to his program of actions and priorities for the next three years.

The General Assembly of the members of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova became an important event in the Jewish life in the country, marking achievements and
outlining new frontiers for the future activities of the organization.
