Visit of US Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Ellen Germain to Moldova

Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova (JCM) was honoured to meet with the US Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Ms Ellen Germain during her visit to Moldova on 30-31 January.

During this visit, Special Envoy Germain participated in opening Moldova’s first museum of Jewish history in Orhei and held talks with the President of the Jewish Community, Mr Alexander Bilinkis, and the CEO Ms Aliona Grossu.

The talks were an excellent opportunity to raise a series of pertinent issues to Jewish Community, including Holocaust memory, restitution and education, as well as related issues such as antisemitism and promotion of tolerance. The meeting also included a short tour of Jewish heritage sites in Chisinau.
