The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova (JCRM) was registered in 1997 and is the successor of the Republican Society for Jewish Culture (founded in 1989) and the Jewish Community of Bessarabia.
This public, non-governmental, apolitical, and non-profit organization unites all Jewish communities and organizations in the Republic, including regional communities from Bălți, Orhei, Soroca, Bender, Tiraspol, Grigoriopol, Dubăsari, and Rîbnița.
The Jewish Community of Moldova is relatively small, numbering less than 20 thousand people. Nevertheless, it has a rich history and deep roots. We have done a lot to revive Jewish identity, restore community ties, support religious life and strengthen cooperation with international partners. The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova considers one of the priorities of its activities to preserve the memory and history of the Jewish people on the territory of Moldova.
In Moldova, we strive to promote regional and international cooperation. Every year we participate and hold meetings, international conferences and strive to continue to contribute to the activities of regional and international Jewish organizations. We sincerely believe that the Jewish Community of Moldova plays an important role and should be actively represented on international Jewish platforms.
