Jewish Life in Moldova.
The official website of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova. A space of memory, culture, and living community life. We preserve the cultural and historical heritage of the Jews of Moldova, supporting education, intercultural dialogue, and solidarity for present and future generations.
The Jewish Community
We remember. We act. This is our responsibility to the past and a conscious contribution to the future of Jewish life in Moldova.
Every initiative, gathering, and act of goodwill strengthens the bond between generations and gives contemporary meaning to our shared heritage. Our programmes bring people together around common values, a sense of responsibility, and the aspiration for a better future, building a united community life.

Who We Are
Building Bridges Between Heritage, Tradition and Culture
The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova is the legal successor of the Union of Jewish Communities of Bessarabia.
We represent the interests of Jewish organisations across Moldova, defend the rights of our community, and develop Jewish identity through education, culture, and dialogue.
Our History Is Our Strength
Welcome to the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova.
Our story began in 1935 and continues today through active engagement, support for Jewish organisations, and cultural and educational centres across the country.
Heritage is our greatest foundation and source of strength. We unite generations through a shared history, faith, and values, nurturing respect for culture and a sense of responsibility for its preservation. We consistently uphold the principles of justice, protect the rights of Jewish people, help preserve memory and identity, and provide social and humanitarian assistance to those in need.
Together with our partners, we contribute to building an open and inclusive society grounded in dialogue, mutual respect, and solidarity.
Join us — together we can do more.

We Create Opportunities and Bring People Together
We create opportunities and bring people together through initiatives that strengthen Jewish identity, preserve traditions, and contribute to community development across the country.
Jewish Calendar Holidays and Community Events
The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova organises and hosts holidays and community events that unite people across generations, reinforce a sense of belonging, and maintain a living connection to tradition. Jewish calendar celebrations, memorial dates, and significant community occasions become spaces for dialogue, solidarity, and the transmission of values, building an active and united community throughout the country.
Commemoration and Heritage Preservation
One of the organisation’s key areas of work is the preservation of historical memory and Jewish cultural heritage in Moldova. This includes commemorating Holocaust victims, constructing, restoring, and maintaining memorials, as well as implementing educational and cultural projects aimed at understanding the past and passing on that memory to future generations
Combating Antisemitism and Security
The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova consistently opposes antisemitism, xenophobia, and hate speech, promoting the values of respect, tolerance, and mutual understanding. A core part of this work involves monitoring and responding to antisemitic incidents, engaging with state institutions and international partners, and implementing security measures for community facilities and events.
Jewish Education and Culture
The Community develops Jewish education as the foundation for preserving identity and ensuring a sustainable future for Jewish life in Moldova. Educational programmes bring together children, youth, and adults, focusing on the study of Jewish history, traditions, culture, and values, as well as non-formal education and outreach initiatives.
Stronger Together
Support the initiatives that preserve heritage, inspire youth, and bring good to our community.
